Have you had a numbness, burning, tingling shooting pain at your heel or bottom part of your foot, you could have tarsal tunnel?

Have you had a numbness, burning, tingling shooting pain at your heel or bottom part of your foot, you could have tarsal tunnel? Do your feet feel better after you massage them? Now, most of you have heard of carpal tunnel syndrome in your wrists. The same syndrome can happen in your feet and cause you the same symptoms, just in your feet.

So, what causes this syndrome? A nerve in your foot, called the tibial nerve, becomes entrapped, or one of its branches. As a result of the nerve becoming entrapped, you will feel these sensations in your foot all common to a nerve that is being irritated. The diagnosis for this condition consists of your description of your pain and showing your podiatrist exactly where the pain is affecting you. There are then some physical exams that can be done that will help confirm the diagnosis so that you can then get the treatment you need.

What is behind the compression/entrapment of your nerve? It could be due to varicose veins (large, twisting, engorged veins) in the area causing compression on your nerve, a space occupying lesion, swelling from a sprained ankle and inflammation. Any of these reasons could cause you to have nerve compression. It is important that we treat both the cause and the result of this condition.

Are you Stuck in the Merry-Go-Round of Chronic Pain and Neuropathy?

This has become a huge problem in our society. It is estimated that over 100 million Americans suffer from some form of chronic pain.

And of this 100 million, approximately one fourth are patients, perhaps like yourself, who suffer from some form of peripheral neuropathy.

A significant number of these are secondary to conditions like diabetes, which can be lifestyle-related.

Regardless of what caused your neuropathy, the bottom line is that good treatment has several things in common:

One of the most important things to understand is that early active intervention in illness, pain or neuropathy-producing conditions is critical.

But this is something we are not really good at!

Unfortunately, patients--and, yes, even their doctors--tend to blow off mild early symptoms rather than aggressively treating what may be happening underneath to cause a patients symptoms like tingling, numbness, burning, loss of sleep, and so on.

This results in serious consequences. The longer a disease progresses, or the longer the after effects of an injury linger, the more difficult and expensive it comes to treat.

Hello,
I'm a customer of yours, buy about a bottle a month for myself.
This morning I had an appointment with my nutritionist, and had her test Artalgia on me (tested well). I gave it a glowing recommendation, and she is now interested in offering it in her clinic.
She may have contacted you already, but, if not, would you let me know if you work with health professionals directly? And give me contact info for her to reach you if you do?

Burning feet at night?

Asked by on 2012-09-01T18:51:58-04:00
I have been suffering with the most horrendous burning itchy feet at night over the last 5 days,
They are not infected ? Or over worked,
I am 31, and I have recently tried to cut out sugar from my diet, not sure if this has anything to do with it ?
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

If the burning pain, sometimes referred to as stinging pain, you could have neuropathy. Neuropathy is pain along the pathways of a nerve or nerves. I have neuropathy almost every evening while sleeping. The pain feels like it is a burning, stinging pain. When I get out of bed and sit or stand so my body weight is on my feet, the pain disappears after 15 minutes.
If the burning pain feels like your feet are hot, and are actually hot to the touch, there may be a circulation problem or a hormonal problem. You are too young for menopause. When all else fails, try Google!

Physical Activity and Your Neuropathy

take a hard look at your lifestyle, and start to add additional physical activity wherever possible. Believe me, as I've said before, if you are recovering from a severe bout with neuropathy, illness, or surgery this may simply mean getting out of bed and up to the bathroom more often.

Physical Activity and the Best Neuropathy Treatment

Physical Activity and the Best Neuropathy Treatment

Much has been written about the effects of exercise and health in general. But what you may not know is there are good studies showing improvements in many health parameters with regular physical activity and exercise.

Not too long ago, the American College of Sports Medicine made the statement that adults should be very physically active seven days a week. Not unexpectedly, the media attacked this as totally not doable by most adults.

But the fact is, the more sedentary our lives become, the worse our health becomes. For example, we know that metabolism slows with as little as 90 minutes of continued sitting at your desk. As your metabolism slows, you become much more efficient at making fat than you do burning it. And as a regular reader of this column, you know that poor metabolism can lead to the development of neuropathy, type II diabetes, or more serious illnesses.

So this means you can boost your metabolism with a workout at the gym or a stroll in the morning--and eat properly--but sitting all day without moving will negatively impact your health.

Typically, inactivity will make your neuropathy worse. So, for patients who already suffer from peripheral neuropathy, this is even more critical.            John Hayes Jr., DC, MS, DABCO

help for my patients experiencing chronic problems with existing treatments for various neuropathies

This homeopathic product is the result of 8 years of research and trials due to my frustrations of attempting to find help for my patients experiencing chronic problems with existing treatments for various neuropathies including (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) diabetic neuropathy and symptoms of poor circulation. Helps with numbness.  It contains ingredients that work to relieve burning, stinging, needles, gravel sensations or feet that stay cold. Also found effective for feet that burn from menopause. Some people get long lasting relief from temporary use of Artalgia and some must continue to take the product if symptoms recur. Previously, the ingredients were all dispensed separately and now, in Artalgia, we combine them in one easy to use product.

literally changing my expectations and quality of life;

Subject: THANK YOU!

Dear Todd,

Although I'm still a little afraid of proclaiming I'm completely healed after 2 years of impotence and ?silent? suffering as you put it so well in your website, I can say I've seen more than considerable improvements after two weeks of taking Artalgia. I must emphasize on the fact I saw many dermatologists, several alternative medicine treatments without even saying traditional doctors like neurologists, etc., acupuncture, a psychologist even, etc., but it's hard to believe a little jar may have solved everything?

I cannot thank you enough for literally changing my expectations and quality of life; I can now worry less for going to work and meetings and feel generally with much more energy as this heavy burden is hopefully, going away for good. You are truly a life saver without doubt and I'm really sorry I cannot thank you in person but I'm sure you've seen what this symptoms cause on people; I can only hope more finds out about your formula so they can end with what I found was the only way to describe it to others: a Chinese torture.

Thanks again and I am ordering a supply for two months, with hopes I can go progressively reducing the amount of it (I'm taking 4 times a day ten drops, sometimes gives me a little head ache but it goes away in 5 min or so).

Nicolás.
